A non
polluting ,thermo chemical process for carburising steels in a pit
type furnace.
|
| PRINCIPLE |
The
components to be carburized are charged into furnace fitted with
a retort wherein the given
carburizing fluid is fed under a controlled flow and cracked within
the retort to provide a uniform
gaseous atmosphere rich in carbon. |
| |
| PROCESS |
1.
Remove all contaminants like oil , grease etc. from the components
and fixtures prior
to loading.
2. Raise retort temp. to around
850 deg. ,load the components and ensure leak proof sealing
of the furnace.
3. Slowly start drip feeding
of the carburising fluid and control using the flow meter.
4. Set fire to the waste gas
and adjust temperature and feed as desired.
